Mr. Maggard is in his 19th consecutive year of practicing law.  After graduating from the University of Denver School of Law in 1986, Mr. Maggard practiced in Denver and Summit County, Colorado for 7 years.  In 1993, the Maggard family moved to Wilmington, NC, primarily to care for elderly and ailing parents.  Following the demise of both parents, the Maggards returned to Colorado and established their home, and the existing law practice, in Douglas County, Colorado.

Throughout his career, Mr. Maggard's practice has emphasized litigation in the areas of family law, criminal law, juvenile law, and general civil litigation including personal injury and wrongful death.  While in North Carolina, Mr. Maggard gained distinction in the criminal law realm by participating in numerous capital murder cases, many of which involved the State seeking the death penalty.  Additionally, the North Carolina practice included domestic relation matters, civil litigation (including contract disputes, collection matters and insurance claims) and juvenile law.

As a father of four children, Mr. Maggard brings an abundance of life-experience to custody disputes in divorce proceedings.  Beyond domestic relation matters, Mr. Maggard's current practice includes personal injury (including wrongful death), juvenile law (juvenile crime matters and dependency and neglect proceedings), civil litigation, appellate work and criminal matters ranging from traffic infractions to serious felonies.

Mr. Maggard emphasizes amicable dispute resolution through aggressive representation but stands ready and willing to actively litigate any matter through trial (jury or non-jury) that cannot be resolved amicably.

Ms. Rogers focuses the majority of her practice on domestic relations matters as well as wills and estates. She moved her practice from Denver to Douglas County in 1999 and although she appears throughout the State of Colorado, the majority of her work is performed in Douglas, Elbert, and Arapahoe Counties.

Ms. Rogers offers 7 years of continuous experience in Colorado Courts handling all facets of dissolution proceedings including, but not limited to, divorce (dissolution); custody (parenting time); alimony (spousal maintenance); child support; adoptions; and equitable distribution of assets and debt.  A former mediator, Ms. Rogers emphasizes amicable resolution of domestic relation matters. The needs of the children are always paramount, and Ms. Rogers has received extensive training regarding the best interests of children in divorce. However, sometimes a more assertive approach is necessary and Ms. Rogers' will aggressively pursue claims on behalf of her clients through our Courts when circumstances so warrant.

Ms. Rogers also frequently drafts wills and other estate planning documents. A firm believer in the idea that it is always better to be prepared, Ms. Rogers encourages all clients to make all necessary preparations to protect their families and assets in the event of their own disability or death. Fees for estate planning services are kept at very reasonable levels, so that they are affordable to those of all income levels.
